BURNED Barnstorming Tour – Bethesda, Maryland

February 16, 2018 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

All are invited to attend a screening of the new, 45-minute documentary film “BURNED: Are Trees the New Coal?” on Friday February 16, 2018 at Cedar Lane Unitarian Universalist Church, 9601 Cedar Lane, Bethesda, MD 20814, Bethesda, MD. The event is co-hosted by the Sierra Club Maryland Chapter and the Washington Ethical Society. The film describes how forests are being destroyed for wood to fuel power plants that supply electricity to customers in Maryland and elsewhere. The film screening tour is made possible by a grant from Patagonia.

There will be a potluck beginning at 6:30 p.m., with the film starting around 7:00 p.m. Following the film there will be time for information-sharing and discussion. The Guest Speaker will be Marion Edey, who is the founder and former director of the League of Conservation Voters. Please join us to share food and friendship, and learn a little about where our electricity is really coming from.
